Meet Shelly, a beautiful 9-month-old, female, flat-coated retriever mix, currently weighing in at 45lbs.
This gorgeous girl is very smart, treat motivated and wants to please. She knows sit, leave it, and is house trained as long as she has an opportunity for regular potty breaks (foster does not have a doggie door). Shelly is crate trained and since her first night in foster, has slept in her crate without a peep. We are working on leash training and she is doing really well.
Shelly previously lived with a small dog and was initially fearful of the large, resident labs in her foster home. After slow introductions, she is now comfortable with the big dogs and likes to hang out with the older male lab.
Although still an active young pup, Shelly has a gentle, sweet personality and loves to snuggle with her humans. She has lived with children and her best friend human was a 7-year-old.
Her new forever home should not include cats, chickens or the like. They are just too much of a temptation for this young girl.
Sweet Shelly is looking for an active family where her humans are home most of the time. She loves her walks, lots of play time, and ending her day snuggling with her humans. As Shelly is such a smart girl, continuing her training with a professional is recommended in order to bring out her full potential.
