Meet Max 9! Max is a very handsome and sweet 4-year-old purebred AKC yellow (almost white) lab, weighing approximately 85 pounds. Max is housebroken, crate trained, and can respond to basic commands (sit, stay, down and come) although he could do with some work on leash training as he does pull and is reactive to other unknown dogs. He enjoys car rides and will happily lay quietly in the back while you drive him somewhere. Max typically spends the majority of his day lounging near his foster parent, proving himself to be an excellent companion to those working from home. He is happy sleeping in his crate at night or can be left to sleep on a dog bed near his humans if you prefer. He can be trusted to be left out during the day when the humans are gone and is currently getting used to a dog door in his foster home. Max has not been around cats and we don't know if he'd like to swim. He has been getting along with the other dogs in his foster home and has previously lived with another lab. We feel he would do better with another dog in the home as that is what he's always been used to and likes to play with another dog once he gets acquainted. Max’s favorite things are belly rubs and walks. His original owners did not introduce him to toys or how fun tennis balls are! This is something he could pick up with some practice and maybe another dog to show him the ropes. His foster parents are hoping that he finds a family that is willing to continue his training, so that he can keep enjoying daily walks. Given his larger size, and his tendency to jump on people, a home with kids over the age of 6 would be the best fit for Max. Max is quite energetic so does need an outlet to play and run and to get regular exercise from walks. He is a friendly and happy dog once he feels at home and just needs a little extra training to make him into the best dog he can be. Are you the family he is looking for?
