Luke 6 is a 5 year old purebred silver lab who already knows all the ins and outs of being a very good boy! He knows all his basic commands like sit, down, stay, wait, drop it and “paw." Luke is crate trained but can also be left to wander the house when his family is out without getting into any trouble. Luke uses a doggy door to come and go and he kindly waits to be invited onto the bed or any furniture for that matter. Since fostering, Luke has enjoyed sleeping at the foot of the bed with his foster mom but is also content snoozing away on his own bed. He LOVES to go for walks and does excellent on leash. He enjoys playing fetch and gets along very well with other dogs. Luke loves people and kids and knows how to gently say hello when meeting new people!
While Luke is a bigger dog, weighing in around 95 pounds, he is a very calm dog with a sweet and mellow demeanor. Luke spends much of his day napping with the very occasional burst of energy for fetch or tug of war. He has no food aggression and eats side by side with resident dogs, he does not destroy his toys and really loves to present you with his favorite toy when you come through the front door! Luke is a very independent dog and enjoys his space but will seek you out for a good butt scratch throughout the day!
Luke is looking for a family that is committed to helping him shed a few pounds, which should be pretty easy since he loves to go for walks! He would do well in a home with or without other dogs but a home with an active resident dog is a bonus to help with weight loss and keep him active! Luke is an absolute catch for any family!"
