Lorelei is a gorgeous 70-lb chocolate Lab, about 2 years old. She’s a loving, playful companion who adores people, belly rubs, and cuddling up after a day of fun. Her favorite toy is a squeaky ball; even after the squeaker stops working!
Lorelei has classic young Lab energy and will do best with an active adopter who enjoys regular exercise and playtime. She’s mastered “sit” and is learning “down” and “leave it.” She’s food-motivated and eager to please.
She would thrive with another confident, playful dog. Because of her enthusiasm and size, she is active and strong on a leash and isn’t always graceful, so she’ll need a capable handler committed to ongoing leash work.
Lorelei loves being part of the action and isn’t suited to long hours alone. A home where someone is around most of the day (especially in the beginning) will set her up for success. She’s still working on crate training and benefits from patience and positive reinforcement.
She’s a chatty, expressive girl, especially when she wants to play. Because of her strength and play style, she’s best suited for homes with older children. She’s also too interested in cats, so she would do best in a cat-free home.
This sweet, resilient girl has so much love and joy to give. With an active lifestyle, a playful dog companion, and plenty of attention from her humans, Lorelei will make a wonderful addition to the right home.
