Coco 9 is an 8-year-old female chocolate Lab with a loving, affectionate personality. She is a sweet girl who still believes she’s a lap dog and enjoys being close to her people. She is a pleasure to walk, is crate trained, and happily uses her crate for naps, quiet time, and sleeping at night.
Friendly and social, Coco loves everyone she meets — people and dogs alike — and still has plenty of pep in her step, especially on walks. She would do well in an active home, enjoying the company of other dogs, and would thrive in a home where her people are home most of the day.
Coco is very comfortable on furniture, and her foster mom wants to be upfront that this is something Coco truly enjoys and should continue in her forever home. If there’s a couch, chair, or bed nearby, Coco will happily make herself at home. She also loves sleeping with her people at night. Sometimes she starts out on the bed, but by morning she’s back in her crate, snoring away. A home that welcomes Coco as a full-time family member — furniture privileges included — would be ideal for her!
She takes a daily allergy medication, which works well for her. Like many Labs, she is prone to ear infections when she swims so she needs to have her ears tended to after swimming or a bath. Coco is trimming down a bit with regular exercise and daily activity - it is important that her new family continue Coco on her weight-loss journey.
Well-mannered and affectionate, Coco is leash trained, crate trained, knows how to sit, uses a doggie door, comes when called, and is proudly “hug trained.” Her foster mom affectionately calls her Cocomo Jo, and she happily responds.
