Handsome Chase is a 1-year-old purebred AKC yellow lab weighing 65 pounds and still filling out his puppy skin. Chase is a lover who wants nothing more than to be with his people. In his foster home, Chase typically spends the majority of his day laying next to his foster parent and would be an excellent companion to those working from home or retired. He will happily and quietly accompany you around the house as you move through your day and settle near your feet. Chase is happy to sleep in a dog bed near his people at night and would benefit from ongoing crate training.
Chase likes to go on walks (he walks well on a loose leash), play fetch, or flop over for belly rubs. While he is shy at first, Chase is quick to warm up. He will thrive with a patient adopter willing to spend time helping him learn skills to build his confidence. Chase prefers the companionship of adults and although he likes his foster kids he is shy and has needed time to feel comfortable with them. Due to his shyness, he would do best in a home without younger children.
Chase loves other dogs and would be thrilled to be in a home with a dog friend who likes to wrestle and play. Chase is respectful of the cats in his foster home (in fact, he completely ignores them). Chase is housebroken and uses a dog door. He responds to basic commands like sit, lay down, and no. Chase's favorite toys are ones that squeak or anything he can retrieve. He would love to play you the melodies of his squeaky toy tunes.
Chase's foster parents hope that he can find a home with a patient owner that has time to continue his crate training, and build his confidence when being left alone, exploring new situations, and meeting new people. He will be so worth it!!!
