Charlie (aka Camitas and Churro) is a 45 pound 1-year-old male lab mix with a booming personality! He could be the spokesperson for puppy love and exuberance. He is very smart, loves treats and wants to please his humans so we know with a little bit of effort, Charlie is going to be a very well-mannered pup. He is housebroken, doggie door trained, does fairly well in a crate and is an A+ student in learning basic commands such as sit, stay and leave it. He loves to fetch but currently needs to do his best to stay calm while he goes through heartworm treatment (a relatively simple treatment that will be completed by the end of June). In the meantime, Charlie is content enjoying his chew toys. We think he is going to be an amazing running, walking or hiking buddy! Charlie also loves to slow down and is a great cuddle buddy. He can be trusted in the house with open access to all areas. We are unsure how he is with cats so he will need to go to a cat-free home. He is great with kids yet due to his puppy exuberance may be best around older kids. Charlie has been around many dogs during his time in foster and has done great with most of them. However, because Charlie was poorly socialized at a young age, he will need some training to learn better manners around ALL dogs. Charlie will be working with a very experienced, professional trainer and we know he will graduate with honors. Charlie and his adopter will have the opportunity to meet with the trainer to ensure his continued success! Please reach out to Charlie's foster if you would like to be a part of Charlie's life and his journey to being a polite, well-mannered dog!
