Bernie is an active, playful boy who also has a gentle nature. He loves to fetch, explore the yard, and play with toys, but he’s just as happy relaxing near his human on a comfy dog bed. He walks well on a leash, rides calmly in the car, and gets along great with other dogs. Having spent much of his life outdoors, he’s adjusted beautifully to indoor living and thrives with a consistent routine. Bernie is crate-acclimated, though he prefers to sleep close to his people.
He is very loving and playful in familiar environments, but can be shy or unsure around strangers, so he will need continued training and patience to help him build confidence. Because of this, he’d do best in a home that is attentive, structured, and ready to continue his positive training journey. Bernie would enjoy older kids who respect his space, and most of all, he’s looking for a committed human to be his anchor. At 79 pounds of pure Labrador love, Bernie is ready to find his forever home where he can swim, play, and be loved every single day.
