Consider Fostering

save a life, foster now

Fosters are the true heroes of the SOLR family—they are the front line in saving these lovable furballs!

When you welcome a Lab into your home, you're providing a soft place for them to land, to decompress, and to get a second chance at a forever home.

The number of Labs we can rescue depends entirely on how many big-hearted people will open their doors to these sweet pups.

For many, your home will be their first taste of family life—those grateful eyes and wiggly tails will show you just how much you mean to them!

How Long Can I Expect to Foster a Pet?

Fosters will keep dogs an average of 4-8 weeks. Some pets need more time because of age, illness, injury, or behavior issues. Your time commitment will be discussed up-front before you agree to foster the pet, but most foster families keep the dog until the dog gets adopted.

What are the Responsibilities of a Foster Family?

  • Provide a safe, loving home environment
  • Provide food, water, exercise and socialization
  • Monitor + address any medical and/or behavioral problems
  • Take photos and provide updates for social media
  • Assist with transport to/from adoption events
  • Talk to potential adopters to help find them their forever home
