Toby 5 is a stunning 1-year-old, ~75 lb dark chocolate lab bursting with all the traits we love about the Labrador breed: friendly, playful, adventurous, affectionate, loyal—and yes, a true foodie! This sweet boy was saved from the e-list at an overcrowded shelter and hasn't looked back since. Grateful for his second chance, Toby is making the most of every moment—and stealing hearts along the way.
This smart, eager-to-please boy already knows sit, down, wait, in, out, up, and come! He's working hard on stay and getting close to mastering it, too. Toby is both crate and potty trained, and he sleeps peacefully through the night in his crate.
Toby is dog-friendly and enjoys active play with his canine foster siblings. He's also cat-friendly—with the help of a confident, dog-savvy kitty in the home who thinks she's a dog too! Toby enjoys his daily walks and is proud to show off his improving leash skills. He also loves hanging outside with his foster mom for evening brushing sessions and winds down with a little dog TV—yes, really!
Toby would thrive in a home that is eager to provide consistency and continue his training, and—ideally—a playful canine buddy. He’s a loving, joyful companion who will absolutely steal your heart.
Fun fact: Toby’s trainer called him Stonnie, after renowned dog trainer Stonnie Dennis, who once said, “All dogs want to be labs.” If you love the name and the sentiment, maybe you’ll call him Stonnie too!
