Duke, the dream dog, is an incredibly sweet, mellow, well behaved 18-month-old purebred English chocolate lab that is on the smaller side at 75 pounds. He is way past the puppy stage and all that entails (pun intended). Duke can be playful at times, but we think his favorite thing to do, is to just be with you, and he will frequently sit at your feet and stare lovingly into your eyes while you pet him (not exaggerating, it's the cutest thing). His second favorite thing is walks, where he heals nicely by your side.
Duke is crate trained and potty trained, he doesn't chew on things he shouldn't, and he is learning to be consistent his commands ("sit", "stay", “come” and "leave it”). He loves people and is very gentle when meeting them. He likes other dogs, but needs to be introduced slowly to unfamiliar dogs, preferably on a leash, before he feels safe.
Duke would do best with a family that is home most of the day, he is good with children, and he would be fine as an only dog or with another mellow dog. Duke has not been cat tested.
